I met Charlie at the 2018 Early Californio Skills of the Rancho. It was interesting to see a fellow from Massachusetts at this event as it was certainly a long way from his home range. He called me several months later and asked if I could build him a working saddle on a Will James tree. Charlie runs a horse transporting business and gets out west occasionally. He’s even taken some time to work on some ranches in Nevada while out here. Bill Bean made the tree for this saddle and it features a 13″ fork with a 4 1/2′ x 12 1/2″ cantle. The horn is 3″ x 3″ and round. We used an in-skirt rigging. Thanks Charlie and hope to see you out our way again soon!
